Illustrated Cards
The bright and attractive graphic illustrations are used in everyday instruction, for games and activities. The cards come in two sizes; a larger version for classroom instruction and games, and smaller cards for individual or small group games and activities e.g. lotto, dominoes.
o The cards are used to introduce new words to the children through sound and visualization.
o During the pilot phase of the program, teachers repeatedly mentioned how useful the cards were in the language learning process. Teachers commented that the illustrated cards encourage the children to speak and give them confidence to try since the cards clearly indicate what word they need.
o When learning a new language, word recall can be difficult. The illustrated cards help a child recall the words s/he knows in Hebrew. For example, having learned to say the verb "want" pictures of milkshake, cake and a banana will help the child construct a whole sentence – such as "I want a cake", "Who wants a banana?", "Do you want milkshake or banana?".
o The illustrated cards include the name of the object depicted written in Hebrew. The program does not teach Hebrew reading, but through the cards the children come into contact with the written language and a concept of what the language looks like. |

Music
The music that accompanies the program provides a fun and active way of learning, through songs and movement. The kit comes with two CDs - one with original music and the second with phrases and vocabulary the children are learning, set to well known melodies. Both disks have playbacks of all the songs. Music is an integral part of the program and fosters the children's phonological capabilities in Hebrew. |

Floor Mats
There are four floor mats which provide the children with a backdrop for games and activities (park, dining room, map of Israel and a snakes and ladders game). The floor mat games help the children use the Hebrew they have learned and apply the language to different contexts and venues. In the park they can create their own stories in Hebrew using the objects and characters on the illustrated cards and the language they have learned. On the map of Eretz Yisrael they can take a trip in Hebrew with their friends. |

Other Games
Multiple use dominoes, flash cards, figures of children and adults from Israel that can be used as puppets and more help review the materials learned. |

Graphics CD
The graphics CD contains all the illustrations used in the program, enabling the teacher to create whatever games and activities her imagination desires. Although we provide everything necessary, we encourage both the teachers and children to create their own materials as well. |
