Herzl Makov has served as the Secretary of the Zionist Executive since 1999. His public activities in the past include membership on the Board of Yad Vashem, Chairmanship of Kfar Adumim local council, Chairmanship of the Municipal Education Committee and membership on the Advisory Committee for the President Award for Volunteering.
Currently, Mr. Makov serves as the Director General of the Menachem Begin Heritage Center. Previously he served as Director of the Prime Minister’s bureau and held positions within the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization including Director of the Emissaries Authority, Director of the Educational Center and Head of the Jewish Agency Delegation in Canada. Prior to his work at the Jewish Agency, Mr. Makov served as Chairman of the World Betar and Head of the National Leadership of Betar Israel
Mr. Makov holds a BA in Sociology and Political Science and a Master degree in Public Administration and Public Policy from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Mr. Makov has been an Associate Member of the Jewish Agency Executive since June 2000.
